• Information rendered by our customer care department and extensive care before, during and after the collection
• Cooperation contract with the birth centre by embedding it into the production authorisation by eticur) as an ordered company
• Training and further instruction of the hospital personnel  
• Special collection box with collection set for umbilical cord blood and maternal blood including temperature sensor, gel pad and accessories  
• Delivery of the collection box before birth
• Remuneration of the involved medical staff (gynaecologist and doctor/midwife who collects blood) for their rendered services
• Transport of the collection sets with a special courier within a maximum of 24 hours from the birth centre to the stem cell bank of the University Hospital Erlangen
• Processing the umbilical cord blood in modern, sterile laboratories
  • Separation of the cells from the remaining blood (stem cell concentrate)
  • Checking the umbilical cord blood for pathogens
  • Simulation of cryo-preservation and unfreezing by using a small sample
  • Testing the vitality of the cells by a cell culture  
  • Testing maternal blood for special viruses with a direct pathogen-proof
  • Determining and comparing tissue characteristics of umbilical cord blood and maternal blood (HLA-typification) in order to rule out mistakes
• Certificate about the successful storage, issued by the University Hospital Erlangen
• Safe storage of stem cells in two separate, extremely safe, electricity-independent cryo-tanks over the contract duration of 25 years
• Regular updates about the latest news on stem cell research on our web site www.eticur.de
• Delivery of the stem cell material if needed  
• Delivery within Germany to the applying institution/hospital
