Basically, stem cells from umbilical cord blood are stored for a whole human life. They are initially stored by us for 25 years and if needed, they are on hand immediately as instant medication. After 25 years, this contract can be terminated by your child who is then an adult.   

Irrespective of the existence of the company eticur), the stem cell bank of the University Hospital Erlangen stores the stem cells für the duration of the contract. Storing the material in a public university guarantees that the storage of your child´s stem cells is maximally assured for the duration of the contract.  

Please note: As the only private umbilical cord blood bank in Germany, eticur) offers in cooperation with the stem cell bank of the University Hospital Erlangen two other storage options apart from the standard private storage. Parents therefore have the chance to select the best health care for their child.
