4. The stem cell bank of the University Hospital Erlangen and eticur) have the authorisation of the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute to hand out cell material to third parties, e.g. siblings of your child.
5. The samples are examined in an extensive direct procedure  in order to detect threatening pathogens and in order to insure that the blood has not been infected during birth (exclusion of the diagnostic gap, e.g. with HIV).  
6. Before they are deep-frozen, the stem cells are thoroughly divided from the remaining blood (separation). With this measure, eticur) avoids clotting to a large extent. Moreover, a bursting of the red blood cells (haemolysis) is avoided when unfreezing the cells.  
7. In order to avoid confusing the cell material after birth or during transport, an extensive identity check is performed (comparison of tissue material from mother and child, HLA-Typification).
8. Before storage, we securely confirm the vitality with a little sample of thawed cells in time-lapse. .
